Our Team

Brian McMahon is the General Counsel at Atlantic IP Services. He qualified as a Solicitor from the Law Society of Ireland in 2004 and from the Law Society of England and Wales in 2011. He qualified as an Attorney-at-Law in California in 2013. Brian spent 7 years working as an in-house attorney for technology companies in Silicon Valley as well as working as a solicitor in Dublin, most recently as Deputy General Counsel for An Post. He has extensive experience in international intellectual property and commercial law within multinational settings and across multiple regions and markets, and has significant experience in complex commercial litigation as well as intellectual property licensing and high-value contract negotiation.

Brian’s primary focus within Atlantic IP is managing the legal function, including intellectual property and legal strategies, patent acquisition, licensing, due diligence investigations and risk management across a wide variety of industries and technical disciplines including automotive, software, technology and telecommunications.

Brian has earned a Master’s in European Union Law (specialising in Internet Service Provider Liability) from King’s College, London and a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from University College Cork and he has published on technology and contract law issues in Irish and California legal journals.
